AVV strikes multi-year deal with CESG

Updated: Jan 24, 2019

"You and your team were a big factor in the success of CES Government 2019. The stage could not have been better, but the stage aside, the management was off the charts. We could not be more pleased with your work, and we look forward to working with you next year. Just a super job all the way around!” - Don Upson, CEO

The Consumer Electronics Show- commonly referred to as simply “CES”, has been a Las Vegas staple since 1998; a crossroads of cutting-edge technology and 180,000+ consumers, converging for a week to show off and inspect some of the most emergent technologies on the market… some of which may never make it to the actual market. With all of this technology in town, and all of the opportunities that exist to show it off during CES week, it makes sense that AVV was right in the middle of the action.

As part of the annual CES festivities, a separate-yet-similar set of events runs concurrent with the consumer show- the CES Government event. This event, hosted by the Government Business Executive Forum, is a place where leaders in government and industry come together to have pivotal, game-changing discussions about mega technology trends in the public sector. Programs like FirstNet- the nationwide broadband network designed to connect first responders nationwide, or CLEAR- the biometric-based identity verification company, are all major players in the CESG event.

As the planning process for the 2019 CESG event kicked off in Washington, D.C., the decree was issued that the 2019 needed event needed to “pop”. With an expected attendance higher than anything they had seen in year’s past, the CESG management knew that they needed a visual upgrade from years past, with a flawless execution. Enter Any Venue Video.

Once CESG reached out the AVV, the wheels started turning rather quickly. AVV was able to understand their desire and help develop/design a show that fit their needs and their budget. A 3D rendering and floorplan was created and sent to the client within 48 hours, and shortly after that, the event was confirmed and ready for execution.

AVV was happy to provide a complete turn-key technical solution for the CESG General Session, including a full compliment of audio, lighting, video, LED, and scenic design- as well as all of the necessary labor to install, operate, and strike the show.

The 3.9mm LED screens- that replaced their typical projector-and-screen package, looked astounding in the room. A NASA astronaut was one of the speakers of the week, and the photos of space on the screens literally took people’s breathe away. Video was switched and processed by a Barco S3 Jr.

Another directive from CESG was that the background and lighting needed to look great. AVV utilized the vast inventory of Atomic Rentals to develop a circuit board-looking backdrop (appropriate, considering the topics at hand). That scenic element, combined with the superb design and programming skills of the Lighting Designer and Operator, made for a simple-yet-beautiful backdrop for all of the presentations.

Once the event concluded, Don Upson (GBEF CEO and CESG Co-Chair) said "You and your team were a big factor in the success of CES Government 2019. The stage could not have been better, but the stage aside, the management was off the charts. We could not be more pleased with your work, and we look forward to working with you next year. Just a super job all the way around!”

To AVV, it was a perfect match. We humbly strive to be the best in the business when it comes to our equipment, technical management, and staff. It seemed very fitting that AVV- a leader in OUR field of technology, pair up with CESG company- who is a leader in their technology-based field as well.

AVV is excited to begin this multi-year partnership with CESG and the Government Business Executive Forum.

Vision-capturing design. Flawless technical execution. Unparalleled customer service. Just a few of the many ways we strive to be #AboveAVVerage.
